With temperature crossing 45 degrees mark in the city, doctors have advised residents to avoid direct exposure to the sun.
Patients suffering from summer disease are increasing and hospitals are witnessing huge rush of patients with diarrhoea, jaundice, heat stroke and other diseases.
J K Lone hospital superintendent S D Sharma, said, "People should travel in four-wheelers as two-wheelers are not suitable in this high temperature. This could cause serious health problems."
Doctors have asked people to increase the intake of water, juices and liquids.
Dr Mohammad Rafiq said, "Sweating leads to loss of water from the body which may cause dehydration and heatstroke."
Doctors said people must drink clean water. "We have to consume a lot of water in summers but there may be germs in it, which may cause stomach ailments," a doctor said.
